As part of the East Sussex WW1 project, we have adapted some stories from our website as an inspiration for teaching the First World War in primary and secondary schools.
The stories cover a range of geographical locations within in East Sussex so you can relate the topic to where your students live.
We’ve added additional, contextual information regarding the war and circumstances surrounding it so that you can sculpt your lesson in a direction which is best for your class.

Empire – These stories contain details of the lives and experiences of soldiers from the British Empire who visited East Sussex during the First World War
